Nassau Psychiatric Services proudly offers Botox injections to the Long Island community. Botox has been known to increase health, happiness and wellness, by providing a more youthful, energetic look, which enhances your self-image. When you look good, you feel good. We know that. And while we also know that Botox is a very safe way to achieve those results, we want you to be confident in the safety and efficacy of the Botox injection procedure too. Here’s some information on Botox, the procedure, and our qualified staff who can professionally administer it.
Botox is the common name for a purified protein which is injected into the skin to reduce lines and wrinkles. Botox is manufactured by Allergan, a company with many years experience producing it. While there are some alternatives to Botox made by other companies, we at Nassau Psychiatric Services believe that Botox is the top-of-the-line choice and thus have opted to use only Botox in our Long Island practice.
Botox has been approved by the FDA and when administered by a trained professional, is highly effective. Luckily, we have a certified, trained, and very-well respected professional here at Nassau Psychiatric Services – Jennifer Eden, PMHNP-BC.
Jennifer is our resident Botox expert. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, she also provides outstanding mental health services to all our clients. Previously, Jennifer worked as an emergency room nurse, where she learned exceptional patient care standards and developed a gentle hand. She went on to work at a homeless shelter where she treated mentally ill residents, before landing at Nassau Psychiatric Services.
Since joining our Long Island team, Jennifer has been trained and certified to accurately and professionally administer Botox. With a quick, simple injection, Jennifer can help remove unwanted lines around the eyes, between the brows, or across the forehead. Just like every person is different, every Botox procedure is different. How much Botox and where it’s administered is up to you and will depend on your goals, as well as medical and cosmetic advice.
Most people find the procedure painless and it takes only a few minutes to complete. While you may experience some redness or swelling near the injection area immediately after, within a few days, you should begin to see some pleasant changes. The injections last approximately 3-4 months, so if you’re pleased with the outcome of the procedure, you’ll want to return for additional injections in the future.
